A Word from the Dean of the College
The College of Engineering at Al-Iraqia University was founded to be a beacon of knowledge, a training ground for minds, and a cornerstone upon which our nation builds its present and envisions its future. From its very first day, our college has carried a noble mission, one that transcends mere education and the awarding of degrees. It is a covenant and a promise to our great nation of Iraq to cultivate a generation that believes in responsibility, is armed with science and knowledge, is capable of leadership and innovation, and is firmly rooted in its values and sense of belonging.
We believe that engineering is not just a profession, but a way of life. It is the language of construction and development, and the means by which humanity leaves its mark on this earth. Hence, the College of Engineering is committed to keeping pace with the rapid advancements in the fields of science and work, through rigorous academic curricula, modern resources, and state-of-the-art laboratories that empower our students to face the challenges of our time with confidence and high competence.
Our aim has never been merely for students to be passive recipients of knowledge; rather, we have strived to cultivate them into role models for their communities, active contributors to their advancement. Today, we reap the fruits of this blessed endeavor, as we witness our engineering students shining in local and international forums, raising Iraq's name high and winning awards and top positions in various competitions. These achievements have proven to the world that our students are capable of competing and innovating. These accomplishments are not accidental; rather, they are the fruit of diligent work, unwavering determination, and a deep belief that science is the optimal path to the advancement of nations.
Our college has taken upon itself the responsibility of carrying the message of science with integrity and transparency, striving to disseminate methods of development and innovation to society. To this end, the college has played a prominent role in establishing channels of cooperation with various state institutions through training courses, development programs, and the exchange of expertise, so that together we may contribute to building a strong and prosperous Iraq.
To chart a clear roadmap for the future, the college has devoted considerable attention to developing its infrastructure, including modern classrooms and scientific laboratories equipped according to international quality standards, ensuring our college's inclusion in reputable global rankings. We have also been keen to support our teaching staff both materially and morally, encouraging them to publish their scientific work in prestigious international journals, for they are the true foundation of this academic institution. Without them, this edifice would not have risen, nor this dream realized.
Our students are our hope for the future, and they are the true continuation of this college's journey. We believe they are the torchbearers of knowledge, and through them, the journey will continue with unwavering determination and relentless resolve. Our mission is clear: to transmit the sciences and knowledge of past civilizations to the present, and to chart a path for the future by instilling these principles in today's generations, so that they may leave their mark wherever they go, and become a generation capable of leadership in all fields of life, upholding the message of knowledge and remaining loyal to Iraq's progress.
My colleagues on the teaching and administrative staff, you are our support and our source of strength. With you, the journey continues, and with your determination, this institution flourishes. You are the guiding lights illuminating our students' path, the role models from whom they draw inspiration for diligence and dedication.
Let us all move forward, with one heart, one will, and an unwavering resolve, towards a proud and dignified Iraq, an Iraq worthy of the sacrifices of its sons and daughters, and deserving of our lives and the sacrifices we make for its advancement and honor.
